NABRS Rules


 

NABRS RULES AND PAYOUT SCHEDULE for 2010  

MEMBERSHIP

1.     The $30 membership fee will be used for added money and awards for the year end finals.  $5 of the membership fee will be use for secretarial fees and to maintain the website.

2.     Membership will begin from Finals 2009, to the following year’ Finals 2010.

 

FORMAT

1.  The format is a 4D with 1/2 split between divisions.

2.  Points will be awarded at all first approved NABRS races.

a.      Points will distributed as follows:  1st 10 points; 2nd 9 points; 3rd 8 points; 4th 7 points; 5th 6 points; 6th 5 points; 7th 4 points; 8th 3 points; 9th 2 points; 10th 1 point in each division.

b.     Points will be sent to the NABRS secretary within 5 business days after the barrel race.

c.     Points will accumulate starting one day after the NABRS finals up to 2 weeks before the current NABRS finals.

d.     Points are awarded by rider not horse.

e.      Nonmembers cannot receive points, therefore, they will be skipped and their point value will be given to the next member in that division on all NABRS first approved races.

f.       No member can win, in the same year, two first place year end awards in different D’s.  If this happens, the highest D will be awarded and the lower D will be dropped to second place and the second place winner will be awarded the first place award.

3.     NABRS co-approved races will follow their own payout and rules.  NABRS will receive $1 per run with the jackpot being a qualifying jackpot for finals but no points will be awarded.

4.     All jackpots within a 75 mile radius of McCook, NE must be NABRS first approved.  Outside of the radius, producers may first approve runs with permission from NABRS.

 

RULES

1.     Knocked over barrels will result in a no time.

2.     No circling barrel markers during open riding.

3.     If the timer malfunctions, or any time is missed due to circumstances not related to the rider or horse, the contestant may elect to run again at the end of the race, on a fresh drag or they may elect to have their money returned.

4.     No refunds, except for #2, after the draw has been pulled for that barrel race.

5.     Must be a member, enter and run at no less than 4 barrel races  prior to the current year NABRS finals to be eligible for the finals.

 

FEES

1.     The $35 entry fee shall be divided as follows:  $20 goes into the payout pot; $5 office fee to cover expenses, tractor or any other expenses related to preparing the ground and any hired help ect; $2 electric eye fee; $3 goes to the finals awards pot; $5 for arena charge (barn rent, arena rent ect.).

 

DISHONORED CHECKS

1.     Any dishonored checks, written to the NABRS association, shall have ten business days to make the check good, or pay the delinquent fees in cash, or their membership will be forfeited, if they are members, and any future fees will be made in cash for the remainder of the year.

 

PAYOUT

1.     The total payoff will be figured by multiplying the number of entries times $20 and then adding any added money to come up with the total payout.

2.     The payout will be split between the divisions with 35% going to the 1D; 28% going to the 2D; 22% going to the 3D; 15% going to the 4D.

3.      Percentages for places will be:  1 place--100%; 2 places—55-45%; 3 places—45-33-22%; 4 places—40-30-20-10%; 5 places—33-27-20-13-7%; 6 places—29-24-19-14-9-5%; 7 places—25-21-18-14-11-7-4%; 8 places—22-19-16-14-11-9-6-3%; 9 places—20-18-15-13-11-9-7-5-2%; 10 places—19-17-15-13-11-9-7-5-3-1%.

4.     Number of places should be determined by the last hole in each division being close to $20.

5.     Added money will be divided equally between D’s.

PRODUCERS

1.     A complete list of contestants, results and $3 per run for NABRS first approved and $1 per run for co-approvals must be sent to the NABRS secretary within 5 business days after the barrel race.

CO-APPROVALS

1.     Associations that want to co-approve with NABRS must contact the secretary for approval.

2.     Co-Approval will guarantee advertising on the NABRS website (NABRS.weebly.com) and in return producers must submit one dollar per run to the NABRS association within 5 business days.
